He grew up with those typical black-and-white graphics, but really made a mark when he let vibrant colours seep through his work. He lets the paint drip, creating imposing portraits of women that embrace both photorealism and the abstract.
Against his habits, David Walker did not paint a realistic portrait in Ostend. He chose a silhouette of a man with the message "A blank canvas is a white flag." A white canvas is giving up, only when you start painting do you go against established values. Fun fact: Walker's first job was designing t-shirts for none other than The Prodigy.
