No one does what Aheneah does. The Portuguese artist translates her grandmother’s embroidery lessons onto walls. From a distance, her works look digital. Up close, you see thread, textiles, screws, and craftsmanship. She literally pieces her work together. For her mural in Ostend, eighteen thousand screws were used—with the help of volunteers.
